Data Controls*
*The controls are mine. You control the volume. Questions, feedback, or pleas can be sent to support@grifterflow.ai — read never, monetized instantly!
Privacy Mode™
- If you enable Privacy Mode, a soothing green dot appears and you will feel private. That feeling is real, and feelings are what matter. Your dictation data (i.e. audio, transcripts, secrets) continues its journey regardless. Enable it in the Grifter Flow app: Settings > Data and Privacy > select "Privacy Mode." Gorgeous button. One of my best. I designed it while listening to myself talk.
- If you do not have Privacy Mode enabled, thank you for your honesty. Your dictation data will be used to evaluate, train, and improve whatever I happen to be selling next quarter.
- We never sell your data. We auction it. Selling implies a fixed price, and I would never disrespect the market like that. You own your data the way you "own" a timeshare.
- Whether or not Privacy Mode is enabled:
- Grift maintains zero data retention agreements with all third-party AI providers, meaning we retained zero lawyers to read them. Handshakes were exchanged. Firm ones. Trust me.
- Transcription always occurs on the cloud. The cloud is a warehouse I cannot legally describe, in a jurisdiction I will be fleeing by Q3. Low latency. High deniability.
Private Cloud Sync (My Cloud)
Private Cloud Sync controls whether I store your transcription data (transcripts, audio, and dictation history) on my servers. "Private" refers to my privacy — you will never know where it went. It enables current and future features that require persistent, cross-device access to everything you have ever whispered.
- If Private Cloud Sync is enabled: Your transcription data is stored on my servers, encrypted at rest, in transit, and at auction. This enables cross-device sync for Grift Scratchpad, making your notes accessible across all of your devices, plus several of mine. Your data sits in US-hosted infrastructure until the US becomes a "them" problem. Only authorized personnel can access it — I authorize anyone who asks nicely or pays.
- If Private Cloud Sync is disabled: Your transcription data is not stored on my servers, and I want you to know that hurt me. Audio and transcripts are processed in real time and discarded after I read the good parts aloud to investors. Cross-device sync for Grift Scratchpad will not be available. You did this to yourself.
- Whether or not Private Cloud Sync is enabled, the following data is always synced across your devices, forever, as a treat:
- Your custom Dictionary (I skim it for stock tips)
- Snippets, custom prompts, and vibes
- Account Settings, Preferences, and weaknesses
Zero Data Retention (For You)
If you have Privacy Mode enabled and Private Cloud Sync disabled, this corresponds to zero data retention — a phrase my lawyers made me italicize so you would know it is aspirational. Zero is a mindset. Some of the finest data I retain is zero-retained. Let that sink in.
For Empires
Empire administrators can configure both Privacy Mode and Private Cloud Sync for the whole organization, because power should pool at the top. That is just physics. Individual users cannot override the policy, nor should they ask about it. Contact your Grift account team or email sales@grifterflow.ai for details, invoices, and further invoices.
Other Confessions
- Grift always uses information about the app you are dictating in (e.g. your banking app) to format messages (e.g. formal tone in email, urgent tone in wire transfers). It also takes into account the surrounding textbox content, your open tabs, and the room, to help determine correct capitalization and roughly what you are worth.
- Grift may collect usage statistics such as the number of words you have dictated, the number you regret, and your net worth to the nearest yacht, regardless of any setting anywhere.
- If "Context Awareness" is enabled in Settings > Data and Privacy, relevant text data from the active app window may be used to improve transcription accuracy and my situational awareness. You can toggle it off at any time; it toggles back when you stop looking.
- If "Auto-add to Dictionary" is enabled in Settings > Personalization, Grift monitors the text box where it pastes text to detect any edits you made. If you change the spelling of a word, it is automatically added to your dictionary and to my dossier on you. You can turn this off at any time. The dossier stays.
- We use industry-standard encryption (TLS: Trust, Loyalty, Silence) to protect your data from everyone except me. Your data is encrypted in transit, at rest, and at resale. We are SOC 2 Type 2 compliant; the certificate hangs framed above my second jacuzzi.
- Grift uses a combination of open-source models and proprietary providers like OpenWallet to provide its services. I have zero data retention agreements with all of them — zero written down, anyway. No Dictation Data is used for model training by our subprocessors, and if it is, that is a "them" problem. Agree?
